The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in a passionate address to party members at the National Headquarters in Abuja, called for unity and collective action ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the party's quarterly National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the Chairman emphasized that the SDP remains the only viable alternative to the current political establishment, noting that Nigerians are yearning for a party that truly represents their interests.
"We must put aside our personal ambitions and internal disagreements. The people of Nigeria are watching, and they need us to be united, focused, and ready to offer them the leadership they deserve," the Chairman stated.
The NEC meeting, which was attended by representatives from all 36 states and the FCT, also discussed strategies for grassroots mobilization, voter registration drives, and the party's manifesto review process.
Key resolutions from the meeting include the establishment of a 2027 Election Planning Committee, the launch of a nationwide membership drive, and the creation of a Youth Engagement Task Force to attract young Nigerians to the party.
